We are looking to recruit an experienced, committed and visionary early years leader to manage our fantastic nursery based in Saltaire, West Yorkshire. Our friendly 40 place nursery takes a nurturing and holistic approach and offers Forest School as part of its pre-school, as well as before/after school care and holiday club provision. We are genuinely child centred and value working in close partnerships with parents. With a strong commitment to quality and improvement, we are looking for a dedicated candidate whose values align with our own in order to provide an outstanding setting for children and families.  You would manage an experienced and well qualified team to deliver exceptional care and education in imaginative and creative ways. 


Main Responsibilities


To work closely with the setting owner to oversee the smooth operation of the setting in accordance with Ofsted and legislative requirements

To implement and develop the operating policies, procedures and standards of the nursery

To lead on and monitor our educational ethos, the delivery of the EYFS and quality standards

To manage the nursery on a day to day basis, including staff planning, nursery administration and resourcing 

To develop and drive self evaluation and development plans, and lead the team to achieve objectives

To act as the main Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring absolute best practice across the setting

To lead on team training and development, and supervisions

To work with other professionals and agencies

To manage the HR requirements of the setting

To act as the main point of contact for parents and staff

To manage budget and occupancy levels, enquiries and induction of new children


Person Specification

Qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 , ideally Degree Level

Experienced Manager from a Good or Outstanding Setting

DBS on update service.

Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to update)

Proven track record of involvement in leading teams through an Ofsted Inspection 

Flexible with regards to working hours to meet the needs of the nursery


Skills and Knowledge

An ability to take a strategic and systematic approach

A robust understanding of the EYFS, Health & Safety Legislation and Employment Law

A visionary, pro-active approach to positively contribute to the ethos of the nursery

Proven business acumen; utilising staffing, resources, budgets and capacity to the best potential

Methodical organisational skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to set and meet targets and deadlines 

Ability to document progress and outstanding practice in line with SEF and development plans.

Ability to role model outstanding practice

A passion, dedication and commitment to providing a magical and outstanding early education and experience for children.


Job Type: Full time (1 year fixed contract. Starting Late August 2017)


Salary: Competitive. Negotiable dependent on experience
